Baryon Group (https://baryon.group) is an investment group based in Vancouver, Canada that acquires small businesses globally. We then use our expertise to grow the companies.

 

In July 2024, we acquired an installer of security systems based in Richmond, BC. The company has served the mandarin-speaking community for over 20 years. We are now hiring a Sales Lead to conduct outbound sales in this company.

The Opportunity

The company specializes in wired low-voltage surveillance and alarm systems. Wired security systems account for over half of market share and have significant cost, quality, and security advantages compared to wireless systems. The market for security system installations in North America is growing by 18% annually.

 

With five staff, the company acquires residential & commercial customers entirely by word of mouth, has no online presence, cannot serve English-speaking customers, and lacks modern management systems. There is a large opportunity to grow this company with modern marketing and outbound sales.

 

We are implementing our playbooks in sales, marketing, finance, and operations to modernize the business and scale it over the next 3 years with ambitious goals. Many sales opportunities have been identified across various customer segments, geographies, and product/service offerings.

The Role

We are looking for a motivated, results-driven Sales Lead to grow the company with us.

 

For this role, we put together a unique unlimited commission and bonus package to incentivize action and discourage passiveness. We did this to attract an energetic person who can take ownership of sales and has strong incentives to deliver results.

 

You will run outbound sales for this company for both English- and Mandarin-speaking customer segments, for both residential and commercial projects. This includes using Chinese apps like WeChat and RED, and English apps. You will be supported by marketing initiatives including a re-brand, lead generation, social media marketing, and content marketing.

 

Besides selling directly to customers and businesses, you will also develop partner relationships with relevant communities and parties to cross-sell our offers and vice-versa.

 

You will be using modern CRM and automation tools to help you drive results by maximizing your effectiveness and efficiency. The owners at Baryon Group are at the cutting edge of data & technology and will build systems to support your work.

 

The previous owner, with over 20 years in this space, will be working alongside you to onboard, train, and support you. You will be reporting to and working with the new owners of the company from Baryon Group who bring over a decade of experience in sales & marketing with dozens of companies, small and large.

 

For the time being this role is a contract role. We are willing to structure this through your corporation for tax efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct outbound sales directly using various channels for both residential and commercial clients who speak English or Mandarin.

  • Pursue leads generated by the company

  • Develop and maintain referral partnerships

  • Identify and pursue new market opportunities in both B2B and B2C markets

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional customer service and support

  • Work with the technical team to ensure that your projects are completed successfully and your customers are satisfied.

  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities and client interactions in the CRM system

  • Demonstrate the products and services on offer

  • Participate in events to promote our brand and services, as needed

  • Identify and outline areas where technology can improve your efficiency and effectiveness

What We Look For In You

For this role, we care about character and ambition more than anything. You will be joining a capable team to grow a strong business. Whether you are a sales veteran and a junior sales rep is less important than your capability. E.g., somebody with 10 years of experience may have experienced the same 1 year 10 times.

  • Must be fluent in Mandarin and English

  • Must have a Class 5 driver's license and a vehicle
